Walking Over Dollars to Pick Up Dimes……………………………………………………….
Maybe it’s because I am not a “wet finger” dentist, but sometimes I can’t understand why most of my clients are afraid to offer (small) services that require some out-of-pocket expense to the patient.
Women will spend $4.00 to $18.00 on eye liner, That little piece of info came from my daughter, and a man would spend, who knows what, on hair restoration. They all buy teeth whitening products so what makes you think they won’t buy something from you for $24.95 that will last 6 weeks, be better than anything they can get over the counter and only available through you. Every patient! Men, women and children!
Cavity Prevention & Cosmetic Maintenance is extremely important to your standard of care and patient loyalty. My wife recently had 6 upper central veneers (15 years old) replaced. The care she takes and the “un-questioned” additional costs are considered an investment, just like the eye liner. Let me point out that her veneers were designed and placed by Dr. Richard Gertler and manufactured by Asteto Dent Labs. Outstanding! She has back that “Bloomingdale” smile. We’ll discuss Lab/Doc communication at a later time.
We tend to over look the small things and the sad part is that they are the easiest. At Henry Schein, we call it the power of the dollars. Think about it, if you see 10 patients a day, 4 days a week and you generate an additional $1.00 from each, that’s $40.00/week or $160.00/month or $1940.00/year NET! Without doing anything! When coordinated with proper insurance coding, a very strong and constant revenue stream will develop. Hygiene – Hygiene – Hygiene – Add a simple MI Paste program @ $24.95/tube to 5 patients a week and you’ll generate $50.00 in net revenue and $2400.00/year. We just found $4,340.00 of “NET DISPOSABLE INCOME”! What about adult fluoride treatments? You are in a business that can provide cavity prevention and “oral cosmetic maintenance”. Prevention & maintenance are good dentistry and can only enhance your standard of care, however, the key words are “you are in business”. This is a win-win for both patient and office.
Now the best part, you can start a program for less than $150.00. For more information on maintenance programs feel free to contact me at any time.
Narrow-Body Implants…………………………………………………………………………..
TREAT A WIDER RANGE OF PATIENTS’ NEEDS
Conventional 2-component implants, although considered standard fare, exclude many patients including those with converging roots, inadequate bone levels which often require lengthy bone augmentation procedures or limiting finances. It is estimated that over 25% of patients that would benefit from implants never receive treatment. The Anew Narrow-Body Implant System overcomes these difficulties, making it possible to offer practical, affordable remedies for a much larger segment of patients. Anew solid one-piece implants, with Non-Hygroscopic Screw-Retained restorations, are a major advance making it possible to create immediate, chairside, provisional restorations. The Anew Implant-restorative protocol was developed in conjunction with the Department of Implant Dentistry, New York University College of Dentistry.

HISTOLOGIC & CLINICAL STUDIES AND VALIDATIONS
Published data and histological studies show high level of the narrow body implant bone adaptation on par with larger conventional implants.
The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial
Implants Volume 20, Number 1 2005, pgs. 54-60
In 2007, a report published by Dr. Stuart Froum et al, followed 48 Anew Implants in patients for 1 to 5 years post-loading. No implant failures were reported, yielding a 100% survival rate.
International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, Vol 27, No 5, Oct 2007.
As a result of clinical and histological documented success, Anew Implants are FDA indicated for long-term use or any length of time as determined by a healthcare provider.
Traxodent, A Hemodent Paste Retraction System……………………………………….
Still packing cord? This soft paste produces gentile pressure on the sulcus while it absorbs excess crevicular fluid. The aluminum chloride creates an astringent effect without irritating or discoloring the surrounding tissue. Results are very predictable.
The sleek syringe design and the bendable tips permits easy application into the sulcus. After 2 minutes it is rinsed, leaving it open and retracted.
