Deregulation Can Work for You……………………………….

Several years ago New Jersey deregulate the sale of electrical power and on Friday, October 1st, New York Deregulated. Only 1% of the state has switched. Why, because we’re all afraid of not using PSE&G or JCPL or Rockland or whoever. Well I felt the same way. Then I realized that by switching and saving, maybe 15%, on your monthly bill is worth looking at.

Cliff’s Notes is now linked to Viridian Power. No Contract, no agreements to sign, your bill still comes from your current supplier but at a reduced rate. Your current supplier will all document on the bill how much you saved. Your current supplier is still responsible for maintaining your power & responding to emergencies. The only thing that changes is that you are saving money. In the near future, there is a strong possibility that gas will also deregulate.

If you have a study club or any non-profit organization, programs are available for residual rebates from organization members without any savings being sacrificed.

Green Energy is used and there is a 20% green program that provide 20% of your power from renewable sources and there is a Pure Green Program that provides 100% of you energy foot print to the grid mostly from wind turbines. Follow the link below and please contact me (201-321-7494) at any time.

This offer is good only for residents of New Jersey, New York, PA & MA. The offer through Cliff’s Notes will become available as States deregulate.

For more information and to calculate your savings, Click on “Referral Program” to sign up under Cliff’s Notes.

A Warning From Gordon J. Christensen………………

The following is part of a recent article published in JADA. Counterfeit product is appearing in every industry and healthcare is no different. Several years ago Dentsply had to recall TPH Spectrum Carpules in the UK because counterfeit product was identified when investigating restorative failures. Before taking advantage of a super bargain, contact the manufacturer or check their website to verify the source as an authorized distributor.

If you have questions or concerns, I would be happy to supply any information and then suggest you consult with your legal or insurance provider. Dr. Christensen’s complete article can be viewed by following the link to JADA.

Are you using “gray-market” or counterfeit dental products?

Most people find it difficult to pass up a bargain, and dentists and dental staff members who select and order products are no exceptions. It is relatively common to see some dental products offered in dental magazines and journals at discounts of 10 to 50 percent. Are you using products that you have purchased at significant discounts? Do you, the dentist, even know if you are using such products, as the ordering of supplies in most dental offices is handled by members of the staff?

A key question to ask is how some dental retailers can sell dental supplies at deeply discounted prices while others continue to sell at the recognized market level. The discounted products may not be legitimate ones produced by the manufacturer

You may be using “gray-market” or even counterfeit products, and you may not know it. Graymarket products include branded goods intended by the brand owner for one national market that instead are diverted and resold by unauthorized distributors to another market. Counterfeit products, on the other hand, never originate from the brand owner. Counterfeiters simply pass off fake materials under the guise of a well-known product. There is a surprising lack of published information on this subject. However, a few related articles are interesting.

How Do You GURU?……………………………………………………………………

In today’s society, you need to be a little high tech. Guru Patient Educational Software has been proven to increase patient acceptance. I know you are all thinking BS and Cliff’s trying to sell you. No, I don’t think so. It gets to a point when you can’t justify an investment. If you are happy with your percentage of TP acceptance, don’t buy it. However, this is what the office down the street is using. Be honest, how many wins does this software have to give you to earn $3K?

This is a new digital world and your patients accept any technology you bring to your practice. As it has been said, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, log onto: http://www.howdoyouguru.com and then watch the YuoTube Presentaion. If it impresses you, think about your patient. By the way, Guru Software qualifies for the IRS sec. 179.

Federal Regulations & Fees,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Let me start by saying that Cliff’s Notes is not making any political statements! I try to notify my clients about important issues that will affect their businesses and lives so that they can discuss and plan future growth, investments and budgets. I have not had the opportunity to verify the who, what or where, but this did come from GovTrack (www.govtrack.gov).

In plain English, this act appears to put a 1% “fee” on all financial transactions. This will affect your entire cash flow process. Your outbound cash will cost 1% more and your inbound will be reduced by 1%.

Congressional Research Service Summary

The following summary was written by the Congressional Research Service, a well-respected nonpartisan arm of the Library of Congress. GovTrack did not write and has no control over these summaries.

2/23/2010–Introduced.

Debt Free America Act – States as purposes of this Act the raising of sufficient revenue from a fee on transactions to eliminate the national debt within seven years and the phasing out of the individual income tax. Amends the Internal Revenue Code to impose a 1% fee, offset by a corresponding nonrefundable income tax credit, on transactions that use a payment instrument, including any check, cash, credit card, transfer of stock, bonds, or other financial instrument. Defines “transaction” to include retail and wholesale sales, purchases of intermediate goods, and financial and intangible transactions. Establishes in the legislative branch the Bipartisan Task Force for Responsible Fiscal Action to review the fiscal imbalance of the federal government and make recommendations to improve such imbalance. Provides for expedited consideration by Congress of Task Force recommendations. Repeals after 2017 the individual income tax, refundable and nonrefundable personal tax credits, and the alternative minimum tax (AMT) on individuals. Directs the Secretary of the Treasury to: (1) prioritize the repayment of the national debt to protect the fiscal stability of the United States; and (2) study and report to Congress on the implementation of this Act.

Sunday, October 2, 2010………………………………………………….

As the story goes, “The rain stopped and the sky cleared”. Cliff’s Notes was late today due to “online” issues. I hope it was worth waiting for.

The day is cool and it’s time to start raking leaves and get ready for Halloween. Always enjoy your family and the day.
